The annual Minnesota Music Month Scouting Report began in 2024 to identify the local music community’s rising stars.
How did we get here? Since July of 2022, The Current’s digital team and The Local Show Host Diane have published a monthly digital feature called The Scouting Report featuring new music by local artists. So, for Minnesota Music Month in April, The Current extends an invitation to the local music community for this edition of The Scouting Report.
Each year, The Current sends a ballot to hundreds of people around the state working in arts journalism, venues, promotion, music retail, artist representation, manufacturing, and more. Their task: choose five new Minnesota bands/artists who put their first project out in the past two years.

The top 10 vote-getters are: Room3 (most votes), Yonder, SoulFlower, Bizhiki, Porch Light, Crush Scene, Christy Costello, Kiernan, Fend, and Ghosting Merit. (See all completed ballots here.)
